Williams Lake: “Home of the something World Tour”
In trusty Williams Lake it rained. We arrived at the crappy tire, for the night, just as it was closing. That made for an adventure of wandering to find a place to designate “the can.”
I got a good nights sleep, was mistaken for being french-canadien by a German. I think that Siobhán and I – her with a short black bob, and me with a big messy mop – living in a van just had that look to us. So, I went shopping. Extension cords had been so cheap at this warehouse store in Salmon Arm, and I wished so many times that I had bought one then. As luck would have it crappy tire and warehouse store shared a parking lot. I went to tire first, just to see what they might have, and what they had was huge saving on extension cords, so I bought one for much cheaper than I had ever expected.
I rule.
We also got an RV quality garden hose in Revelstoke for a bargain. Sadly tho, Surplus Herbies had nothing we needed immediately. Amazing store: when in Williams Lake check out Surplus Herbies (it is like ‘Deals’ but without crap in it, or like Honest Ed’s, but smaller.) The only item I wanted to buy on my budget was a rain suit in a bag. Siobhán was emphatic that I “DO NOT BUY THAT!”
The rest of the town was closed because it was not Sunday afternoon.
