Grand Forks: “Borscht & Sunshine”
The only thing I can really say about this town is tubing, and tubing down the river.  Siobhán and I don’t have inner-tubes, but we had dollar store water mattresses.  We choose to ‘tube’ along a stretch of the river that was about 3 hours long.  For pale faces like me that get cold really easily it was too long.  Some how in that time my lips turned blue, and I started to have uncontrollable shakes, at the same time as my feet and shoulder burnt to a crisp (I was wearing 50 SPF water-proof sun block.)
Before any of that crazy adventure could happen I needed to get a key unstuck from a lock.  Don’t ask me how it happened, but Siobhán’s door key got stuck in the side door lock.  It locked and unlocked the door just fine, but would not come out of the lock. I was forced to remove the door panel, and take out insulation to fix the problem.
My plan had been to disengage the locking mechanism from the key hole, unfortunately I accidently opened the lock in that process.  I managed to get everything held together (only missing one spring, and two pins) with: pocket fluff, a piece of the local coffee-shop newspaper, and duct-tape.  It is a better than leaving a key in the door, but not perfect by any means.
